About Me
I am the personification of the quote “ A young heart, with an old soul”. I enjoy the simplest of things in life such as enjoying a cup of coffee at the coffee shop early in the morning; watching people getting on with their daily lives never fails to intrigue me as I try to pick up on their idiosyncrasies to figure out their story.
My taste in music gravitates towards a genre known as “Tropical House”. It is one of peculiarity as it melds the rhythm of electronic dance music with the heart-fluttery tunes of conventional instruments like the saxophone, xylophone, and flutes to produce a kinder melody with light-hearted house music.
I often immerse myself in shows that are comedic in the genre; preferably American sitcoms. Crime is also another genre that piques my interest and keeps me glued to the screen.
Upon the realization that I have a knack for communications and relational establishment, I decided to pursue a Bachelors’s in Communication with The University at Buffalo NY. Throughout my journey into higher education, it has broadened my exposure greatly. Projects done, are real-world application based; and with Professors from the United States who are social scientists themselves accessing us propels our experiences even further. Therefore, I hope to become part of either corporate communication, public relations, or marketing team in the future!
I graduated from Temasek Polytechnic in 2016 with a Diploma In Marketing. Working with clients such as Star Cruises Singapore and exquisite audiophile house, Bang & Olufson has taught me the ropes of establishing and maintaining a personal as well as professional relationship; being able to stay grounded in times of pressure and uncertainty during client presentations ensures that decisions would be made pragmatically instead of emotionally.
My stint with Inchcape, Champion Motors gave me the first real taste of a true marketer in the industry. Might I dare say, it was one of the most rewarding and comprehensive experiences as a young adult being introduced into the workforce. Despite my role as an intern, the list of responsibilities was much to uphold compensating for a small team. From designing of catalogs, meeting with contractors and designers as well as ensuring our vehicles meet international standards of quality control. I was also given my own car by the company! If any, my internship has inculcated in me the need to strategically plan as well as foresee service recovery as contingencies
I spent my time serving the nation in the 3rd Battalion Singapore Guards as an Assistant Platoon Sergeant for the Reconnaissance Team that comprised of about 40 strong-willed individuals. The main takeaway for me is Assertive-Empathetic Leadership. Not only were the lives and safety of these men under my belt, but also their emotional and mental well-being. Undergoing tough missions together forged camaraderie and a bond like no other.
As an individual, I feel that any task no matter how meager should be performed with the best of my abilities and excellence; it also gives me great joy when my efforts are met with content and recognition. Due to my strive for excellence, I am somewhat of a workaholic as well, always grasping at the chance to further myself when the opportunity arises.
